Position Overview

ARRO is seeking a UCC Inspector III to ensure that construction projects meet all applicable codes and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will conduct plan reviews, perform field inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with contractors, municipal officials, and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality construction outcomes.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with technical expertise in construction codes, strong communication skills, and the ability to solve problems in fast-paced field environments.

This position reports to the Field Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Code Compliance

  • Conduct detailed reviews of building plans and specifications for code compliance within UCC-regulated time frames.
  • Perform field inspections and prepare written reports for residential and commercial projects.
  • Identify and resolve compliance issues during all phases of construction.
  • Maintain inspection records and issue corrective actions or approvals as needed, referencing code standards in writing.

Professional Representation

  • Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and municipal personnel.
  • Represent ARRO with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to quality service.

What We Are Looking For

Certifications (Required/Preferred)

  • Current ICC and PA UCC certifications required or preferred, including:
    • UCC/ICC Certified Building Plans Examiner
    • UCC/ICC Certified Residential and Commercial Inspector
    • UCC/ICC Certified in Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical (preferred)
    • UCC Building Code Official (BCO) certification (preferred)
  • OSHA certification a plus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building code enforcement or inspection.
  • Understanding of PA township ordinances and zoning (preferred).

Skills & Additional Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of construction codes and industry practices.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, etc.); GIS preferred.
  • Responsible for maintaining certifications and CEUs through ICC/UCC.

Working Environment

  • Based out of an ARRO office with fieldwork throughout the region.
  • Field conditions may include outdoor environments, varied temperatures, and physically demanding inspection activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and follow jobsite safety protocols.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
