The City of Butler is accepting applications and resumes for the position of CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER / BUILDING INSPECTOR.  This position is appointed by City Council and is an “at will” employee.  The Code Enforcement Officer / Building Inspector is a specialized employee whose primary function is to act as the field inspector of the IRC and IPMC with responsibilities to interpret and enforce the ordinances.  Applicants must be a certified IRC Inspector and must possess PA UCC Certification 10 (Residential Building Inspector), or attain certifications for UCC Certification 10 within 12 months of hire date and IPMC Certification within 18 months of hire date. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. 

An Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two years of related experience and / or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by City Council is required.  A background in building trades or construction management is helpful but not required.  Applicants must be proficient in MS Office computer programs.

Salary is commensurate with experience ($45,000 to $55,000).  The City of Butler is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Applications must be submitted on a job application form provided by the City.
