This is a LIVE STREAMED virtual training session from 2021 PENNBOC Conference. Space is limited.
Description: With the sharp rise in the popularity of solar systems the building code official needs to understand fundamentally how these systems behave and what are the dangers associated with solar systems. The program will introduce the student to both passive and active solar systems, providing them with a fundamental understanding of how the system works. The discussion of active solar systems includes both hydronic and photovoltaic systems, to include on-grid systems, off-grid systems, and discussion on energy storage systems. With respect to hazard mitigation, the student will be able to identify system type, and understand the appropriate safety precautions needed to safely interact with the system.
