Fire Marshal Butler Township, PA 01/12/2018

Butler Township is accepting applications for a full time Fire Marshal.  The Fire Marshall performs a variety of administrative and technical work related to both the coordination of the Three (3) Volunteer Fire Companies, as well as code enforcement activities associated with but not limited to the Township’s Fire Code and related Building Codes and Zoning Ordinance. This position is exempt under FLSA.  Excellent personal interaction, telephone skills and organizational skills are required.  Successful candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; five (5) years’ experience in fire suppression and fire prevention activities; working knowledge of building construction and fire prevention systems.  Applicants must possess the following certifications:  ICC Fire Inspector I; UCC Building Code Official; Fire Investigation and Training; two (2) basic NIMS Training; Hazmat; Instructor Certification with Education and Methodology; Fire Sprinkler – Commercial and Residential.  Other Certifications related to the Pennsylvania UCC are highly desirable.   Applicants must be detailed oriented, have the ability to multi-task and be able to maintain a high level of confidentially.  Salary and benefit package commensurate with experience, certifications and training.
