Passive Fire Protection For Building Code Officials Enola, PA 05/12/2015

Participants will learn about and be able to:
•   communicate importance of fire protection and means it is achieved to lay persons
•    recognize typical and atypical areas where fire stopping measures
•   recognize and evaluate previous fire stopping practices during remodeling
•   verify code compliance of proposed materials and processes • satisfy fire rated ceiling protection requirements
•   apply code and approved methods for grease and clothes dryer duct and return air plenum space
•   evaluate use of fire retardant coatings and requirements
•   read and understand rated assembly labels and labeling requirements
This session delivers educational material appropriate for code officials as well as trades, architects, engineers, facility owners and maintenance personnel.

About Dave  Latanision
Dave is the manager Business Development and Marketing for Winroc-SPI, a Building Products Distributor and Specialty Fabricator serving the U.S. and Canada. For more than 25 years, Dave’s been involved in passive fire protection serving commercial, multi-family residential, institutional, industrial and marine construction. A presenter for numerous regional and state conferences Dave has been involved in fire protection product development and testing Previously, Director of Fire Protection services for IREX Corp a national specialty contracting company. Dabe has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and Associate Degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University with an Associate in Specialized Technology from Johnson College.
